El Centenni
The Centennial
2024 , Newspaper print (32 pages, 2,000 copies), workshop, happening
A group of people gathers at Es Baluard Museu to collectively edit the first issue of a new newspaper, EL CENTENNI. It is no ordinary newspaper: it is published only once every 100 years. As a paper time capsule, EL CENTENNI gathers the news we would wish to find when the next issue comes out in 2124.
It grew out of a several-month workshop with different groups of older residents of Palma. At the end, we went out together to distribute the paper for free in the city streets, creating an unexpected situation. If reality disappoints us, it is our task to invent it.
